The silver case has a gold hinge & a gold olivette around the hand setting pin. The case has a smooth finish with a central garter motif on the rear, in good condition, some minor bruising on the rear. The rear cover has the Chester hallmark for 1885, the casemakers mark TR & the serial number 25382. The inner dustcover is also silver.

The glass is very good, some minor scratches. The dial is excellent there are no hairlines, there is a small edge chip between I & II this is outside of the chapter ring & can hardly be seen with the bezel in place. The Swiss made lever movement is marked Thos Russell & Son LIVERPOOL. MAKERS TO THE QUEEN. The hands are pin-set, to move the hands, push in the pin on the edge at I & turn the crown.
