Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of, decided to release the new material as a separate EP called in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it’s tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It’s a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident on the heavy steel synths of “Bad Romance” and the updated revision “Alejandro,” as it is on the rock & roll ballad “Speechless” - its big guitars lifted from - and the wonderful, perverse march “Teeth.” Even the stuttering splices on “Telephone,” a duet with, leans to the other side of the Atlantic, which just emphasizes the otherness that’s become ’s calling card. And even as she’s becoming omnipresent, with her songs mingling with those who co-opt her on the radio, she is still slightly skewed, willing to go so far over the top she goes beyond camp, yet still channeling it through songs that are written, not just hooks. Builds upon those strengths exhibited on, offering a credible expansion of the debut and suggesting she’s not just a fleeting pop phenomenon. The limited, individually numbered deluxe edition comes packaged with memorabilia, including photos, fanzines, and paper dolls.
Well, this is the first picture disc I've ever bought. Of course, I tend to avoid them because they supposedly sound bad, and I love to listen to my records as opposed to look at them.

I'm glad I took the risk on this one, as it sounds pretty damned good. Granted, I had low expectations, and it's certainly a bit on the noisy side at the beginning of sides and on quiet parts (the very few there are on this album). If you love this album and want to be able to listen to it loud on a stereo through vinyl, I would recommend.

However, as has been pointed out, it is indeed censored. But so are all of the CD versions I've heard. I really don't know why this was done, as there are definitely explicit versions of the songs that are censored here (namely the music videos on Youtube, but I don't know about the singles). Had quite low expectations of this release, but maybe I got lucky as mine doesn't sound too bad,not too clicky & poppy, it does have the classic picture disc roar, but not at too higher level, I have new black vinyl with higher background noise levels and lets be honest, Gaga's Fame Monster isn't a exactly a fragile breathy acoustic so you never notice.as for the overall sound, I have lots of Boomy Bass and Roar! Which is how the music is, its modern Synth Pop mastered for the Ipod dock.As others have said, sadly its the censored version, but if you want it on vinyl this is the only option so far, maybe a deluxe pressing of the whole album will be released on vinyl one day.To sum up, in my opinion on my equipment (Rega Planar P3, Ortofon 2m Black, Kef LS50's) it sounds fine, not the best it could be but its not a bin job or fit for wall mounting only, Still a pleasure to own.
